Full, flexible Virtual LAN (VLAN) implementation support includes protocol-based VLANs to filter legacy protocols and IEEE 802.1Q-based VLANs with individual Spanning Tree support

Industry-standard IEEE 802.1p Class of Service support prioritizes traffic through the network for multimedia and/or mission-critical applications

Fault-tolerant features include a physically redundant gigabit port when used with the optional gigabit interface connector (GBIC), trunking of multiple load-sharing links, and Spanning Tree domain support
